What do you do at Zen?

I am responsible for the forecasting, planning, and scheduling within the Technical Support teams. Broken down (but still high level):

  • Analyse: Looking at historical data and trends for work that comes into the various Technical Support teams.
  • Forecast: Create forecasts for expected work volumes
  • Planning: Plan in work volumes - seasonality, expected surges in demand etc.
  • Scheduling: Schedule in staff and activities based on the above, to get the best Service Level result for our customers.
  • Reporting: I provide daily / weekly / monthly stats reports to the Support management team to look at our performance

Something fun/happy memory from your time at Zen?

My best spent Christmas Bonus purchase was my Bulldog, Taco, who I had for 11 wonderful years! Technically it was thanks to Zen that we had him as part of our family for that time – what a great Christmas Bonus.

What makes you proud of being a women in Tech?

I’m fortunate to focus on what I bring to the table skill wise and see myself as a Successful Resource Planner, as opposed to focusing too much on being a “Woman in Tech”. I feel I’ve been successful in my career, and just put that down to my work ethic and desire to do the best I can do in any role I’ve had so would encourage women to embrace their skills with confidence.

What do you think could entice more women into working in Tech?

Try to look at opportunities as being “the right person for the right job” regardless of the gender of the person and have confidence around what experience you will bring to the role – if it helps, write a list of the things you’re best at and continue to revisit this if you get any doubts!
