Zen has maintained its status as the only Which? Recommended Provider for Broadband in 2022, after once again coming top of the consumer champion's annual broadband survey of the UK's internet service providers.

Scoring 74%, Zen finished 9% ahead of the next nearest provider, with the big four lagging behind. A multi-time Which? recommended provider, Zen has topped the table for seven consecutive years and was the only provider to earn four stars for speed and reliability, also earning four stars in the value for money, technical support, ease of contact and ease of set up categories.

Paul Stobart, Zen CEO said: “Being named the only Which? recommended provider for broadband for two consecutive years and topping the table for seven is a testament to our commitment to providing our customers with a high-quality service. We have a hard-working team at Zen all aligned to the same values, particularly when it comes to championing the customer. This survey reflects our level of determination in ensuring we continue to provide an industry leading service.”

The news comes as a recent survey by Zen (of more than 2,000 consumers who have broadband) revealed that a third (33%) plan to switch broadband provider in 2022 as one in ten (11%) believe they could get a better and more reliable broadband service by switching.

A third (35%) reported the need for connecting an increased number of devices, thus requiring more bandwidth as part of their broadband package. The same number (33%) also experienced more issues, including outages, than previously.

Paul continues: “People across the country are spending more time working from home; consumer appetite for increased bandwidth over a reliable connection is stronger than ever. That’s why ensuring you’re with the correct broadband provider is especially important. For households looking to switch, it’s crucial to consider not only the price points, but the quality of service, the overall customer experience and the eco-credentials of the provider, given that these are the real differentiating factors from one provider to the next."
