We've signed up to Ofcom's Voluntary Code of Practice: Residential Broadband Speeds, which means we've agreed to give clear information on the broadband speeds our customers can expect.

We are committed to providing our customers with the best possible broadband speed at all times. However. it's important to note that the speeds we have quoted are an indication of the speed that lines like yours have achieved for this broadband service, but there are other things that can affect the speed you'll get.

Please note the speeds displayed are from Zen to your router/hub and are not inclusive of Wi-Fi speeds between your hub and your wireless device.

That’s why if the speed between Zen and your router is significantly below our estimate, and we’re unable to fix the problem, you can end your contract penalty-free.

Our broadband technologies

At Zen, we offer various broadband technologies to suit your needs. Here’s a brief overview:

Full fibre broadband: Also called FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), or just ‘fibre’, full fibre broadband provides a direct fibre connection to your home or office, ensuring the highest quality and reliability.
Part-fibre broadband: Also known as SOGEA or FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) broadband, part-fibre connections provide a fibre optic connection to the nearest street cabinet, then a copper connection from the cabinet to your home or office.
Copper broadband: Also called ADSL broadband, this connection uses traditional copper wires all the way from the exchange to your home or office. You won’t find many providers selling new copper broadband connections today, as the old copper network approaches its switch off date.

How do I move provider?

With One Touch Switching, changing your broadband provider is quicker and hassle-free. Simply place your order with Zen — we’ll handle the rest, including notifying your current provider and we’ll confirm once everything is set up.

How is my full fibre service installed?

You current copper landline connects to your home either overhead or underground. The new fibre-optic cable will usually follow the same or a very similar path to your old copper telephone wire.

This external cable will enter your home through a small hole made in your wall, before being connected to a small box inside your home. Our engineer will connect your Zen WiFi router to this box.

Once everything is set up, we'll demonstrate that your fibre service is working and run a speed test.

Is the installation disruptive?

Full fibre broadband needs a brand-new fibre optic cable running to your home, which will usually follow a similar path to your copper phone line either overhead or underground. Our engineers are very experienced at installing full fibre and will talk you through the steps involved on the day, including agreeing with you before any work takes place. They’ll minimise any disruption and will always clean up and take any rubbish away (leaving only the router box).

Can you help ensure I get fast, reliable Wifi throughout my home?

We’re pleased to offer Zen EveryRoom to guarantee a WiFi boost in your home. From lounge to loft, bathroom to bedroom, no matter where you are in your home, EveryRoom takes your WiFi connection further.

When you sign up to EveryRoom, we'll send you a mesh repeater, which will provide more reliable WiFi that adapts to your needs, providing the strongest signal whatever room you're in. And what's more, as you move around the home your devices will intelligently work together, meaning no more dropped connections.

You can add EveryRoom to your new broadband bundle when you purchase online or by calling our sales team.
