Which? Broadband Provider Overview - March 2010

In the March 2010 Which? magazine announced the results of their Best Buy for Broadband, revealing that Zen Internet is currently the only ISP to be awarded the Best Buy broadband provider status.

The below quote has been taken from their recent broadband provider overview:

The Evolution of Broadband
Broadband is making great leaps with faster speeds and more users than ever before. We reveal which providers get the best ratings from their customers.
Since home dial-up internet became popular in the 1990s, internet speeds have come a long way. With speeds of up to 24Mbps being offered as standard by some providers, broadband offers a dramatically faster way to get online. Which? has surveyed thousands of members to find out how you rate your broadband providers.
Zen emerged at the top of the tree in terms of customer satisfaction, but some other broadband providers such as previous Best Buys O2 and Utility Warehouse have taken a backwards step since our last survey. However, packages from O2, Utilty Warehouse and Be are still worth considering. They may no longer be Best Buys, but they have excellent customer satisfaction scores and, unlike Best Buy Zen, O2 has no data download limits.
We found that switching providers is a straightforward, with 80% of members who had switched recently rating it very easy or easy. When you're moving, don't assume that the most expensive service will be the best – some of the more costly providers and Don't Buys. On the other hand, Plusnet can offer outstanding value for money.
Be aware that the broadband landscape is rapidly changing this year. Pipex, Nildram and freedom2surf will be rebranded as Opal during 2010. And we haven't included Waitrose in our table – while it's still operational, it's no longer taking news customers.
Zen Internet
Which? Customer Score: 89%
Zen Internet continues to impress and is the only service we recommend as a Best Buy.
It's customer satisfaction score is an improvement on its September 2009 rating and, though it's a bit pricey, it does have only a one-month tie-in period.
