Note: The Mac OS X 10.1 -> 10.3 driver supplied on the CD will not work with OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
A driver compatible with OS X 10.4 can be downloaded from the Speedtouch Web site.
Note: The Speedtouch USB and the Speedtouch 330 are not compatible with Intel based Apple Macs. For Intel based Apple Macs we recommend you use an Ethernet router or modem.
When installing a USB Modem you should follow the instructions provided with the device precisely.
In the case of the SpeedTouch 330 and SpeedTouch USB, the installation requires the device to be unplugged when the wizard begins. You will be prompted when it is appropriate for the USB device to be attached. Once the installation is complete, you should reboot your computer before attempting to make a connection.
If you are using several other USB devices on your computer we recommend using a powered USB hub, or opting for an Ethernet modem (such as the D-Link DSL 300 G). USB devices often draw their power from the computer and, once you have more than one USB device connected, the computer may no longer be able to provide enough power to the modem. This is a particular problem for PC motherboards with VIA chipsets.
USB Modems require drivers to be installed on your computer - as such there may be compatibility problems with older operating systems and hardware.
The SpeedTouch 330 modem is compatible with the following operating systems:
PC
Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 200, Windows XP and Windows 2003
Apple Macintosh
Mac OS X 10.1 through to 10.3
Mac OS X 10.4 supported via an updated driver available from the Speedtouch Web site.
Zen recommend Macintosh users opt for an Ethernet modem or Router/Modem. If you do opt for the SpeedTouch 330, the modem must be connected to a powered USB hub, or the USB ports on the base of the Macintosh itself. It should not be connected to the keyboard's USB ports, as it will not be provided with enough power.
