Web Browser Support Policy
21/11/2011
This document defines the Web browsers which our online systems and tools will support. This document applies to Web browsers used on desktop versions of Windows, Mac OS and Linux/Unix. Web browsers on unspecified devices such as tablets, PDAs, mobiles, and other mobile devices are not covered.
1 SUPPORTED WEB BROWSER
1.1 All content must be readable and usable and all functionality must work.
1.2 Variations to presentation of content must be minimised.
1.3 Where CSS layout is used, the CSS must be rendered by supported Web browsers, so that a fully-styled version of the page is presented to the user.
1.4 Variations between how pages are rendered by Web browsers are inevitable but we will always aim to provide the majority of visitors with the best experience (i.e. as close to the original design as possible).
2 PARTIALLY-SUPPORTED WEB BROWSER
2.1 All core content must be readable and usable and navigation must work.
2.2 Any degradation to (client-side) application functionality must be graceful degradation.
2.3 Any degradation to presentation must not obscure content.
2.4 Where CSS layout is used, we may choose to provide an unstyled version of the page.
3 UNSUPPORTED WEB BROWSER
3.1 No support or testing.
3.2 Any Web browsers not specifically listed in the support table may also be regarded as unsupported.
3.3 Pre v1.0, Alpha, Beta and Release Candidate builds of Web Browsers are not supported

1
Supported versions of this Web browser autoupdate without any user intervention, therefore we support the most recent non-beta version.
2
Supported versions of this Web browser are largely dictated by usage since the OS/users are encouraged or prompted to upgrade.
