The key requirements for BrightMinds were reliability, 24/7 access to web content and reduced server maintenance. With little in-house server administration resource, BrightMinds also needed a supplier that could provide a complete range of support services which included: solution design, full server configuration, and the scheduling and management of data backups.
Zen installed and configured two servers in its data centre: one to host BrightMinds' website (IIS Server) and the other to host their associated databases (MS SQL server). Separating these applications onto two discrete hardware platforms ensured that performance and reliability were optimised – a key requirement for the online retailer.
Underpinning BrightMinds requirement for a more reliable hosting platform was the need to make any transition of service as smooth as possible. Prolonged downtime simply wasn't an option as this would affect the availability of their revenue generating E-commerce website. Zen recommended that BrightMinds firstly transfer its domain hosting to Zen's hosting platform. This paved the way for a trouble free migration of their E-commerce site across to Zen's Managed Server solution.
Security was also a key consideration, prior to the introduction of the Zen Managed Server solution, firewall policy updates were being conducted irregularly, potentially exposing the busy online retailer to unacceptable risk. Zen's solution included a fully customisable firewall appliance which was proactively managed and maintained by Zen's team of accredited firewall engineers. This additional tier of service allows BrightMinds to safeguard their valuable hosted services and stay ahead of online threats and attacks.
