Zen Internet Preferred Partner to promote UK Digital Excellence!
06 February 2006: Zen Internet, an award winning ISP (Internet Service Provider), has been chosen as a Preferred Partner to appear alongside the Government's Digital Strategy on the Parliamentary.org Web site. The Government recently launched this initiative to highlight the importance of information and communication technology for the UK's future prosperity. The initiative aims to promote and increase public awareness about the Internet and the Government aims to make the UK a world leader in digital excellence.
In order to promote debate on the key issues of the Digital Strategy for the UK, particularly its impact for public sector and small businesses; information about the initiative has been set out on the Parliamentary Web Site (www.parliamentary.org) together with comment from leading industry players.
Iain Johnstone, Sales and Partner Programme Manager, Zen Internet explained:
"As soon as we heard about the initiative we were very keen to get involved and promote it and the issues it raises as much as possible. Here in the UK, new technology has been embraced and is a vital part of every day life for most people. With this in mind we really feel the aim to make the UK a world leader in digital excellence is something that we can help to achieve. Zen is very proud to be a Preferred Partner for this initiative alongside such partners as PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Apple."
Gary Worden, Marketing Manager at St James House (the company behind Parliamentary.org), explained:
"Zen was chosen as a Preferred Partner due to their reputation as a reliable and award winning Internet Service Provider. We only approach companies who come recommended and who can provide expert advice in their field. The promotion of the Digital Strategy required a company who had a proven record in quality online services and technical knowledge and Zen seemed the obvious organisation to choose."
In order to ensure full consideration of the initiative, various areas have been set up on the Parliamentary Web site to offer advice and guidance for all organisations in relation to the strategy. This includes easily accessible information that is available for the general public, students, secondary schools, educational institutes, departmental heads, and frontline staff from Local Health and Educational Authorities and advisory bodies. Reports sent by various Government departments and numerous other institutions sent to the site can also be viewed.
