Implementation of 15% VAT rate

1 December 2008: On Monday, 24 November Alistair Darling announced that VAT would be reduced from 17.5% to 15% as of Monday, 1 December 2008 until Thursday, 31 December 2009.

Zen Internet will be passing this saving on to our customers and all pricing has been updated to reflect the 2.5% reduction as of midnight.

Changes to the Web site

For business products the prices listed on the Web site exclude VAT. The new rate will automatically be applied at the point of purchase.

For residential products e.g. Home Broadband and Broadband Voice, prices listed on the Web site include VAT and have been changed to reflect the 2.5% reduction. For example, Zen 8000 Lite has been changed from £17.99 to £17.61.

Customer Billing

Pro Forma Invoices: All payments made by Direct Debit, credit card and manual payment after Monday, 1 December 2008 will reflect the new VAT rate of 15%. All customers who have already been sent a pro forma invoice are being e-mailed to inform them that the amount they owe has been adjusted.

Tax Invoices: The VAT on any tax invoices that have been raised before Monday, 1 December will remain at 17.5%. This is applicable to customers who are on credit facilities.

Standing orders: Customers are responsible for adjusting their standing orders.
