Offline Backup Service
If you have large amounts of data and limited Internet connectivity you may wish to perform your first backup more quickly by using our Offline Backup Service.
This service transfers your backup files to an external, portable USB 2.0 hard disk drive, which is temporarily connected to your Local Area Network (LAN). This avoids sending the first backup over the Internet to the remote Storage Platform. The Snapshot disk is then physically taken to the Data Centre, where the data is transferred onto the Storage Platform. As the software encrypts your data prior to it leaving your server it ensures that your data is kept secure during transit.
We are able to provide this service using Zen owned hard disk drives or customer provided hard disk drives of a supported specification.
Offline Recovery Service
This service provides the opposite of the Offline Backup Service. It enables you to restore large amounts of data without requiring access to a fast Internet connection.
It should be noted that most restores are of single files and would not normally require the use of the Offline Recovery Service. Even in a complete disaster it is possible to select and recover the key files as a priority to enable business continuity and then recover less important files thereafter.
The Offline Recovery Service requires a laptop to be physically transferred to your premises therefore time limited guarantees are not provided with this service.
