Zen Internet offers a FREE migration path from other Internet Service Providers to any of our Residential or Business Broadband services.

Minimum downtime for you

If you already have an active Broadband account with another ISP, we may be able to migrate your service so that you don't have to wait for your current ISP to cancel it before we can provide you with new service (a process which involves seven or more days loss of connection).

Migration is designed to reduce the amount of downtime and inconvenience to an absolute minimum.

3 Steps to Easy Migration:

  1. Contact your existing ISP and ask them to provide you with a Migrations Authorisation Code (MAC) Key.

    A MAC key is used to authenticate the migration request from your current ISP to Zen. The use of a MAC makes migrations between ISPs simpler and quicker to validate enabling the migration to be completed in a much shorter timescale than previously possible.

    NB: Please make the ISP aware that you are migrating to Zen Internet and do not want your ADSL service ceased (cancelled) until the migration has been completed.

  2. Place an order online at https://secure.zen.co.uk/orders/ADSL/ where you will be asked for the MAC Key and the name of the ISP you are coming from.

  3. Once your order has been accepted and [ongoing] payment has been processed, we will send a migration request to BT. They will then send an e-mail to your existing ISP requesting migration to Zen Internet.

How long will it take to process the Migration order?

Once this request has been accepted, the order will be processed in approximately 3 to 5 working days, depending on the product chosen and the line quality. Your present Broadband service will continue to be provided until the migration is completed. We will send you information by e-mail to let you know the precise date when the Zen Broadband service will first be provided and all the details needed to use and maintain your new Internet connection.


Important points:

  • We cannot initiate a migration until you provide us with your MAC Key.
  • The Broadband migration process does depend on the co-operation of your existing ISP. In the event that a migration cannot take place, you will need to arrange for your existing ISP to cease (cancel) your Broadband service so that we can arrange for a new connection to be configured on your line.
  • Although a successful migration should result in much less downtime than a 'cease and reprovide', unfortunately we cannot provide any guarantees as to how successful the migration process will be or how long your Broadband service will be out of operation during the migration.
  • In the event that the request to migrate is rejected by your existing service provider, BT or Zen Internet cannot provide any arbitration between yourself and your existing ISP.
